Job summary

Regions is seeking an experienced medical office administrator to join the Oncology team as a full-time Patient Advocate. The role guides patients through their cancer journey, reviews insurance benefits, and helps with co-pays and outside assistance.

You will verify insurance prior to the first visits and coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, and the care team. The Advocate counsels patients on insurance coverage, assists with transportation and community services, and reviews chemotherapy

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• 3 years medical business office experience with insurance procedures and patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Guides patients throughout their cancer journey and across the continuum of care.
• Reviews insurance benefits and counsels patients on coverage and co-payment responsibilities.
• Assists patients in obtaining outside assistance such as transportation and community services.
• Verifies primary and secondary insurance before the first visit is scheduled.
• Reviews chemotherapy protocols and determines insurance benefits and patient responsibility.
