Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2 years' experience in a health care or health care scheduling position and 3 years' relevant work experience (call center, health care scheduling, financial clearance, customer service, education) required with no degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• or With Bachelor's Degree, 1 year relevant work experience in a health care or health care scheduling position.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling: first point of contact for patients, referring providers and care teams to coordinate oncology care.
• Oversee complex process involving multiple calls to obtain records and coordinate with clinical team.
• Identify appropriate disease group, providers and appointment types; coordinate multiple visits per patient.
• Educate patients on cancer type, diagnosis, treatment, and provider roles within the care team.
• Coordinate and review patient records, ensure completeness prior to initial visits; update demographic and insurance information.
• Process referrals and enter data in EPIC; store outside records and imaging as needed.
