Job summary

Elliot Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our Radiation Therapy Department with direct patient care, rooming, vital signs, and specimen handling. The role emphasizes accuracy in chart prep and adherence to regulatory standards within the Oncology unit.

Ideal candidates will have MA program completion, certification, and a willingness to obtain BLS within 90 days of hire, with 1–3 years of MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days from hire.
• 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care in assigned clinical areas.
• Prepare visits by organizing diagnostic results and reports in the medical record.
• Room patients for visits, record vital signs, allergies, and medication lists.
• Obtain and document age-appropriate measurements and vital signs.
• Conduct screening tests and document results per protocols.
• Collect and process specimens; perform point-of-care testing as directed.
