Job summary

SolutionHealth seeks a Medical Assistant to join the Radiation Therapy team in New Hampshire. You will assist providers with patient care, examinations, procedures, and dressing changes in a busy oncology setting.

You will prepare charts for appointments, perform rooming, measure and document vital signs, and conduct screening and point-of-care testing as part of daily duties. BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Required Graduate from MA program.
  • Required 1-3 Years of experience as an MA.
  • Preferred Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Required BLS, must have within 90 days from hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists providers in patient care in assigned clinical areas.
  • Assists with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes.
  • Performs administrative duties in accordance with standards and policies.
  • Prepares charts for daily appointments including test results and reports.
  • Performs rooming, vital signs, medication review, and documentation.
  • Obtains and documents measurements including vital signs, height, weight, and other metrics.
  • Conducts hearing, vision, respiratory and ECG testing.
  • Performs screening based on condition/need and processes specimens.
  • Performs and documents point of care testing.

If you are a Medical Assistant with strong clinical experience/skills and you have a passion for Oncology.

About the Job:

Assists providers in the administration of patient care in assigned clinical areas. Assists with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes. Performs general administrative duties in accordance with JCAHO, CLIA, NCQA and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:
  • Performs visit chart preparation activities based on the daily scheduled appointments including diagnostic test results, emergency/urgent care reports, discharge summaries and consult/PCP reports are located in the medical record and accessible to the provider.
  • Performs rooming activities for provider visits according to the documented rooming criteria including chief complaint, allergies, vital signs, medication list review, tobacco history, LMP, health maintenance overrides and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Obtains and documents age and/or condition-specific measurements accurately including vital signs, height, weight, head circumference, peak flow, and pulse oximetry.
  • Conducts and documents hearing, vision, respiratory and ECG testing.
  • Performs and documents specific screening based on condition/need including depression and asthma.
  • Obtains, documents and processes specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment.
  • Performs and documents point of care testing accurately.
Who You Are:
  • High school diploma or GED,
  • Required Graduate from MA program,
  • Required 1-3 Years of experience as an MA,
  • Preferred Medical Assistant Certification,
  • Required BLS, must have within 90 days from hire
