Job summary

Tennessee Oncology seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct, safe patient care under the direction of physicians and nurses. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, reviewing medications, updating the EMR, and assisting with prescriptions and lab coordination.

Strong multitasking, communication, and teamwork are essential. Prior MA certification is preferred; BLS within 3 months of hire is required. This position supports a community-based cancer care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or recent MA experience.
• Current BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, document pain, and screen patients per protocol.
• Room patients, review medications, and update EMR.
• Assist with prescriptions and refills under supervision.
• Support triage calls and patient education under supervision.
• Prepare exam/treatment areas and maintain supplies.
