Job summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in delivering high-quality cancer care in a community-based setting. The MA will assist with intake, vital signs, medication verification, EMR updates, and patient education under the supervision of licensed staff.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, blood draws, specimen collection, and coordinating referrals and lab communications in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and CMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA certification.
• Minimum 5 years of Medical Assistant experience in healthcare settings.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Measure height/weight and vital signs; screen for pain and distress.
• Room patients, verify medications and allergies in EMR.
• Update patient information and health history in EMR.
• Assist with prescriptions, refills, and lab result communications.
• Support triage calls and screenings per protocols.
• Assist with procedures and port access under supervision.
• Stock rooms and prepare supplies; ensure clean, safe clinics.
