Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation
• Interacts with patient, family and health team members while maintaining ANA standards of nursing practice
• Collects and analyzes data, develops an individualized care plan, coordinates care and evaluates outcomes
• Directs care and oversees the use of any assistants providing direct patient care
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and staff to document and communicate care plans
• Participates in governance, committee work and unit projects
• Documents patient responses and updates care plans based on evaluation
• Uses evidence and best practices to guide nursing decisions
