Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse Inpatient in Illinois. You will provide direct nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process, coordinate care with a care team, and ensure quality outcomes. This role requires a nursing license in Illinois, BLS, and strong collaboration and analytic skills.

ER-specific qualifications include ACLS and PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year. Pediatric ER requires additional life support credentials.

Qualifications

BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of employment.
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate.
ER requirements include ACLS; PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
Pediatric ER requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support and TNCC within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Interact with patients, families, and health team members while upholding ANA standards.
Develop individualized care plans and coordinate care delivery.
Direct care and supervise any assistants involved in patient care.
Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and staff; document plans and communications.
Participate in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
Evaluate patient responses to interventions and adjust plans accordingly.
Utilize evidence and research findings to guide practice decisions.
