Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to cover the Oklahoma City, OK North Texas territory. You will engage with customers to address needs, educate stakeholders about oncology products, and work to achieve sales goals within the district.

Role requires oncology field-based experience, strong relationship-building skills, and ability to travel, including overnight trips. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and performance-based incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience or a minimum of a high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, work experience in the healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience being strongly preferred (including pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices) that is not sales related, professional marketing experience, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and able to drive a vehicle.
• Travel the amount of time the role requires, including overnight travel as needed.
• Reside in or within a reasonable distance to the district.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Collaborate with territory counterparts to ensure customers have a seamless experience with the Oncology organization.
• In customer engagements, communicate a patient-centered rationale for the Oncology products.
• Understand cancer care pathways, guidelines, and treatment options for different tumors.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment and multiple distribution channels.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with the local team and district manager.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support customer needs.
