Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to cover the Oklahoma City, North Texas territory, engaging with customers to address needs and educate stakeholders about oncology products. You will strive to meet or exceed sales goals while building strong business relationships.

The role requires oncology field experience, travel as needed, and residency within the territory. Overnight travel may be required as part of the field-based duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with preferred 8+ years of sales experience or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling oncology products
• Experience in healthcare/scientific field related to oncology acceptable if not sales
• Valid driver's license and willing to travel including overnight trips

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals within the territory
• Collaborate with territory counterparts to ensure seamless experience for customers
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products to stakeholders
• Understand cancer care pathways and guidelines across tumors/diseases
• Analyze trends in complex buying environments across multiple distribution channels
• Review product purchase and prescription patterns (outpatient vs inpatient)
• Develop short- and long-term plans with local team and district manager
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities
• Ensure consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with in-scope teams
