Kumc is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator for the Correlative Lab in the Cancer Center to coordinate collection and shipment of oncology trial specimens, ensuring adherence to protocol requirements and proper documentation. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and uses EMR (Epic) and lab calendars for scheduling.

This on-site position supports the Bioanalytical and Correlative Labs, participates in weekly rotations, and ensures specimen integrity, transport, and timely coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or other science related area.
• Two years of relevant work experience; education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience with HIPAA guidelines and research regulations.
• Oncology experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Obtain, document, process and manage serial specimens (blood and other bodily fluids) obtained from patients participating in clinical trials.
• Request and ship research related pathology requests for the CTO; collaborate with Tissue Repository staff.
• Perform study-specific ECGs and transmit data to the database per protocol.
• Manage inventory and kit supplies, order kits, and update inventory spreadsheets.
• Coordinate collection of central study samples with nursing, study coordinators, physicians and patients.
• Data entry in Hospital and Laboratory information systems per policies.
• Ensure specimen integrity and proper transport; use EMR (Epic) and Outlook lab calendar for scheduling.
