Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator (Correlative Lab) in the SOM KC Cancer Center Clinical Trials unit. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate collection and shipment of oncology trial specimens per protocol, manage supplies, and assist with startup activities and monitor visits.

This position is 100% onsite at our Clinical Research Center. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in biology or a related science, with 2 years of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related science field.
• 2 years of relevant work experience with HIPAA guidelines and research regulations.
• One year laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and oncology preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time-management and attention to detail skills.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate collection, processing, and shipping of clinical trial specimens.
• Maintain inventory of study supplies and prepare kit orders.
• Assist with study start-up requirements and monitor visits.
• Operate EMR (Epic) and Outlook lab calendar for specimen collections.
• Support weekly lab rotation and daily patient assignments.
• Ensure specimen integrity and compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
