Job summary

The Cancer Center of Kansas in Wichita, KS is seeking a full-time, on-site Scheduler to manage patient orders and appointments with a focus on timely, courteous service.

Under supervision, you will answer calls, enter data, maintain accurate demographics, and coordinate with clinicians to optimize patient flow and scheduling; prior experience in medical offices and familiarity with EMR/PMS systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls and messages and assesses priority level.
• Obtains and communicates messages accurately and in a timely manner.
• Efficiently schedules patients in the computer system according to provider guidelines.
• Ensures patient accounts are up to date with accurate demographics and records.
• Cancels or reschedules appointments and notifies relevant clinic personnel.
• Maintains orders queue and coordinates pre-certifications or authorizations as required.
