Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Oncology Clinic to support clinicians and the care team in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Under supervision, you’ll take vitals, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, process specimens, maintain records, verify eligibility, schedule visits, and assist with patient admissions and discharges. Requires MA credential and BLS; on-site duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare and administer injections as directed.
• Assist with routine physicals and clinical procedures.
• Review labs and report abnormal results to clinicians.
• Maintain medical records and schedule appointments.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification

Medical Assistant credential (MA credential approved by MA Dept of Health)
