Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. You will escort patients, record vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care tests, and assist with injections and routine exams.

Under licensed supervision, you will maintain medical records, handle clerical tasks, verify insurance where needed, collect co-pays, and ensure clean, prepared exam rooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to examination rooms and records vital signs.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Administers non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assists in routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Reviews laboratory results and flags abnormalities for physicians.
• Maintains medical records and assists with scheduling and clerical tasks.
