Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians in outpatient clinics. The role involves direct patient care, vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and clerical duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.

You will manage patient flow, maintain accurate records in the EMR, assist with routine procedures, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health.
• Current BLS/HS certification required or obtained within 3 months if hired.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare, document and administer injections as directed.
• Assist with routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Maintain supplies and equipment and ensure proper sterilization.
