Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, seeks a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians in an outpatient clinic. Under licensed supervision, you perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and clerical duties to streamline care.

You will prepare exam rooms, document encounters, and assist with patient flow. Requirements include a High School diploma, BLS/HS certification, and a Medical Assistant credential recognized by MA Dept of Health.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association, or must obtain within 3 months of hire.
• MA credential approved by MA Department of Health; alternative education/experience allowed.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare and administer injections within scope of practice.
• Assist with routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Maintain medical records and assist with patient admissions/appointments.
• Process prescriptions and refills as directed.
