Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Medical Assistant II for the Family Medicine Clinic in Worcester, MA. This full-time, on-site position supports providers with patient care and clerical duties across a busy ambulatory setting.

The MA II will take vital signs, perform EKGs and phlebotomy, assist with injections and patient flow, and help manage charts and insurer communications. A BLS/HS and MA credential are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations and procedures.
• Review lab results and communicate abnormalities to physicians.
