Job summary

American Oncology Network seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our oncology team at Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute, with on-site responsibilities in a fast-paced multi-site setting. The role includes patient assessment, prescription writing, and participation in clinical trials.

The candidate must have an NP/PA degree, valid state license, prescriptive privileges, and BLS certification, with at least five years oncology experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Master’s degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state.
• Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
• Current ANCC or ONS certification (AOCN-P) or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and psychosocial status of patients via interview, history, exam, and diagnostics.
• Write prescriptions for medications and therapies as prescribed.
• Determine eligibility for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret test results and relay information to collaborating physician.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
