Job summary

American Oncology Management Company seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist physicians in patient care and teaching at Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute. You will be involved in exams, prescribing, trial eligibility, rounds, and coordinating multidisciplinary care while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program.
• Master's degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state.
• Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
• Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P).
• Current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients.
• Write prescriptions for medications and blood products.
• Determine eligibility for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies / tests.
• Relay information to the collaborating physician.
• Administer therapeutic measures / obtain specimens.
• Dictate follow-up letters and summaries.
• Dictate or write patient histories, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes.
• Assist in managing family dynamics and coping mechanisms.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
• Document and report care accurately and timely.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and remain flexible in changing health care environment.
• Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency.
• Market and promote cancer treatment outside the institution.
• Meet work priorities and ensure completion of tasks.
• Comply with HIPAA and all laws and company policies.
