Job summary

Clearview Cancer Institute in north Alabama is seeking a dedicated Physician Scheduler to manage patient appointments, follow-ups, and rescheduling within a busy oncology/hematology clinic. This role requires coordinating with physicians and extenders while ensuring a smooth patient flow and accurate communications.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of medical office experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients to see physician, extender, labs, scans, etc.
• Confirm patient appointments.
• Maintain office schedules for the physicians and extenders.
• Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Receive and route messages and documents as needed.
• Greet patients, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications as needed to do work assigned.
• Perform various clerical and administrative functions as needed.
• Transmit information or documents as needed, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
• Other duties as assigned.
