Job summary

Aurum Construction is seeking an Onboarding Specialist to manage the new-hire experience from offer to first quarter. You’ll ensure new employees have what they need to hit the ground running, whether in the office or mobilizing to sites nationwide.

Responsibilities include planning orientation, coordinating access, processing paperwork, and training sessions, while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HRM or related field with relevant HR experience.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll processes.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required; strong confidentiality and ethics.

• Serve as main point of contact and guide for new employees.
• Contact new hires before their start date with key details such as work schedules and project information.
• Process employment paperwork and enter new employee information into our HRIS.
• Coordinate mobilization packets for employees heading to project sites.
• Work with internal teams to set up corporate accounts and access for new hires.
• Schedule and oversee training sessions.
• Introduce new hires to their teams and current employees.
• Keep the employee handbook up to date.
• Track new-hire turnover and retention rates.
• Gather feedback from new hires on their candidate and onboarding experience.

The Role

As our Onboarding Specialist, you’ll own the new-hire experience from offer to first quarter. You’ll make sure each new employee has what they need to hit the ground running, whether they’re joining the office or mobilizing to a jobsite across the country.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Proven experience as an HR Onboarding Specialist or Manager, or in a related HR role
• Hands-on experience with HRIS systems
• Good knowledge of labor laws and regulations
• Familiarity with employment paperwork, including offer terms, fixed-term contracts, and confidentiality agreements
• Understanding of payroll procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of confidentiality and professional ethics
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
• Construction or multi-site workforce experience is a plus
