Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Bowie, MD to design electrical power generation, distribution and utilization systems for water and wastewater projects across the US. You will create detailed electrical, instrumentation, and controls designs and procurement specs, ensuring code compliance.

You’ll join a high-performing team with a hybrid work model, three days in-office, and opportunities to grow your professional credentials and expertise in an international engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain it.
• 5-10 years of experience in the design of electrical power generation, distribution and utilization systems.
• Experience with high voltage substations and protective relaying is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering solutions for electrical power generation, distribution and utilization.
• Prepare procurement specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.
• Create construction documents for electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems.
• Participate in bid responses and project planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and other codes.
