Job summary

Stantec is seeking a full-time Construction Field Inspector to support our Water US South team. The role focuses on on-site safety, quality oversight, and field testing across Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, and neighboring regions.

Travel with overnight stays and weekend work is required. You will collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure work complies with plans and specifications, maintaining thorough daily reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; secondary ed in related field a plus.
• Minimum 5 years related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; pre-employment drug screen and background checks.
• Proficient with desktop office software; strong written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region with overnight stays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site safety representative and maintain a safe working environment.
• Act as liaison between engineer and contractor; coordinate with client and team.
• Perform testing and document results; operate testing equipment.
• Track construction progress, issues, resolutions, and field discussions.
• Review daily construction issues and resolve with design team and client.
• Ensure adherence to contract and design documents; report discrepancies.
• Maintain detailed field documentation and prepare progress reports.
• Travel region extensively; overnight stays and weekend work.
