Intertek in Kentwood, Michigan, is seeking a Vehicle Test Fit Technician to join our Transportation Technologies Team in the automotive testing lab. This on-site role focuses on fitting body panels and lighting, documenting results and evaluating appearance and function.

The successful candidate will have a High School diploma and ASE certification or pursuit thereof, with 2+ years of automotive experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Capable of attaining ASE Certification.
• Minimum of two years work experience or vocational training in automotive repair or related transportation repair.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
• Proven ability to plan, organize and complete projects independently.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Physical dexterity for technical functions.
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Willing to use personal vehicle for business travel and report mileage.
• Own basic hand tools.

Responsabilités

• Test fit body panels and lighting systems on vehicles and evaluate fit, appearance and functionality.
• Comment on fit, appearance and functionality of panels and exterior lighting clearly and confidently.
• Accurately complete all applicable documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide input to management and customers as needed.
• Organize daily workload and inform staff of turnaround time and status.
• Meet project, department and customer deadlines; identify process improvements.
• Transport vehicles/parts to and from the lab.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
