Job summary

Optimal is seeking a Technician to support Vehicle Dynamics, body sealing, and water intrusion testing on a full-time, onsite basis in Milford, MI. The role focuses on vehicle handling, inertia measurement, airflow, and intrusion tests, with hands-on work on various vehicles including competitors.

The candidate should have an automotive-related degree or ASE/Master Mechanic certification, 2–5 years of electrical/mechanical experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects with autonomy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in automotive field or ASE/State Master Mechanic Certification or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of electrical and/or mechanical firsthand experience.
• Ability to become HV2 certified.
• Demonstrate the ability to work multiple projects with autonomy and accountability.
• Experience in Vehicle diagnostic procedures per SI and test drives to verify repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform VHF testing - Vehicle Handling.
• Perform VIMF testing - Vehicle Inertia measurement.
• Perform bench marketing testing on competitor vehicles.
• Perform full body airflow tests.
• Perform water intrusion tests.
• Perform dust intrusion tests.
• Ability to dismantle and reassemble various vehicles including competitors.
