Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated seeks an experienced Stationary Engineer to ensure safe, efficient operation and maintenance of building mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems in a Milpitas, CA facility. You will manage HVAC, boilers, chillers, and related equipment while upholding regulatory compliance and tenant comfort.

The role requires a valid license, 5+ years' experience, and strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Stationary Engineer license (grade as required by local jurisdiction).
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating commercial building mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of BAS/BMS platforms, boiler operation, and refrigeration systems.
• Universal EPA refrigerant certification preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and respond to on-call emergencies.
• Must meet union membership requirements and eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and related mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and building standards.
• Respond promptly to building system alarms, service requests, and emergency repairs.
• Maintain accurate logs of equipment readings, maintenance activities, and work orders.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local code requirements, including refrigerant handling and boiler operation regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors on specialized repairs or capital projects.
• Participate in energy management initiatives to optimize building efficiency.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as part of an on-call rotation.
