Job summary

Day & Zimmermann Company in Hawthorne, NV seeks an experienced Traffic Supervisor to lead the depot traffic team, oversee bills of lading, carrier coordination, and reporting, and ensure compliant, timely operations on site.

You will coach staff, review regulations, manage traffic systems (MTMS, ETA, ASIS), and coordinate schedules to meet shipment priorities, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of government traffic procedures and shipment documentation.
• Ability to direct daily work, set priorities, and coach staff.
• Experience with MTMS, ETA, ASIS in depot operations.
• Ability to interpret traffic rules and reporting requirements.
• Ability to evaluate problems and coordinate carrier resources.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees processing bills of lading, classifying shipments, reviewing carrier requirements, preparing traffic reports, and coordinating transportation services; establish priorities, assign work, monitor execution, and address performance or workflow issues to maintain efficient traffic operations.
• Train and coach assigned Traffic personnel on technical procedures, applicable traffic regulations, transportation systems, and required documentation; evaluate work quality and provide performance feedback to strengthen team capability and compliance.
• Review traffic regulations, technical references, operating procedures, and functional guides for accuracy and applicability; direct needed updates and oversee completion of traffic reports and contractual data requirements.
• Oversee use of MTMS, ETA, ASIS, and other applicable traffic systems; validate the accuracy of critical records, resolve or elevate system and data issues, and guide employees in consistent system use.
• Evaluate technical inquiries from ACO Traffic and other stakeholders and determine appropriate responses or referrals; coordinate carrier schedules, equipment, and transportation services to meet approved shipment priorities and requirements.
• Maintain traffic-office quality management and document-control processes; review compliance concerns, assign corrective follow-up, and report potential environmental issues to responsible departments while reinforcing Company safety and ethics standards
