Job summary

Express Employment Professionals seeks a Technical Support Specialist in Savage, MN. The role supports customers and field technicians with expert troubleshooting, parts research, and on-site technical assistance.

You will interpret blueprints, assist with part pricing, and travel for on-site service as needed. You will conduct training on hydraulics and electrical systems, contribute to SOPs, and coach Service Team members.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; hydraulic systems experience required
• Ability to troubleshoot 24VDC – 480VAC systems
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and Servos a plus
• Basic machining experience (drilling, milling, sawing)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally

Responsibilities

• Provide phone and online support for machine assembly, troubleshooting, and repair
• Assist customers and Field Service Techs with part identification, availability, and pricing
• Interpret blueprints and schematics to guide technical diagnostics and solutions
• Research and source obsolete parts and customer-specific needs
• Conduct technical training on hydraulics, electrical systems, blueprint reading, and machine assembly
• Support development of the internal knowledge base and SOPs
• Offer one-on-one coaching and training for Service Team members
• Occasionally travel to perform on-site repair and troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Operate, service, and support machine systems including saws, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and Servos
• Collaborate with Service leadership to enhance department processes and standards
