Job summary

Avantor in New Jersey is seeking a frontline Operations Coordinator/Procurement professional to support multiple facilities across a geographic area and provide SAP-based services. The role includes shipping/receiving, inventory control, and collaboration with Lab and Production Services teams to drive SOPs and customer interfaces.

The candidate should bring GMP experience, strong communication, and the ability to travel overnight as required, with an assigned bonus program for overnight travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• An Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• GMP facility experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple facilities and customers in a strategic geographic area.
• Perform inventory control, procurement, shipping, and receiving tasks as needed.
• Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel.
• Coordinate and lead team efforts on SOPs and direct customer interfacing.
• Provide SAP support for customer services, credits, and invoice scrubbing.
• Manage budgets related to expense reports and meet revenue, safety, and quality goals.
• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings.

Job description

• Report to the Manager of Operations Specialist and work closely with Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols.
• Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area, performing the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, and Glass Washers when needed.
• Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.
• Coordinate and lead team efforts, performing work related to customer requirements, and closely work with management to complete projects like Standard Operating Procedures and Direct customer interfacing.
• Utilize various computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Citrix, VBQ, Info Access, and other customer-specific applications.
• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
• Provide SAP Support for customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing.
• Manage budgets related to expense reports and meet goals in revenue, safety, and quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc., a plus
• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Suite
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS
• Overnight travel is required, and you will receive an overnight assignment bonus program
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are needed to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus
• Forklift Certification is a plus
• Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, a plus
• IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG a plus
