Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer to design, automate, secure, and operate enterprise cloud and hybrid platforms in support of a DISA Citadel mission within a secure DoD environment. Role emphasizes IaC, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps practices on a DoD-focused stack.

Position is on-site at Fort Meade, MD with a contract-to-hire arrangement for US Citizens with an active Secret clearance. W2 benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or systems automation.
• Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
• Active Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification and Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Build and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Automate system provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and workflows.
• Support DevSecOps by integrating security controls into deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to ensure RMF and STIG compliance.
• Monitor platform performance and troubleshoot reliability/scalability issues.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and deployment procedures.
• Participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
