Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the DISA Citadel mission at Fort Meade, MD. The role encompasses design, implementation, and operation of enterprise infrastructure in secure DoD environments, collaborating with cybersecurity and network teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in systems engineering, DoD experience, and an active Secret clearance. This is a W2 contract-to-hire role with benefits and potential conversion to FTE.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering or enterprise infrastructure experience.
• Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
• Active DoD RMF/STIG cybersecurity knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise systems infrastructure supporting DISA Citadel operations.
• Engineer and administer Linux server environments in IL6/IL5 networks.
• Support virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper‑V, or cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, SOPs, and procedures.
• Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis.
• Support patch management, RMF/STIG compliance, vulnerability remediation.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to ensure DoD compliance.
• Automate administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Participate in system upgrades and technology refresh initiatives.
• Provide Tier III escalation support and mentor junior engineers.
