Job summary

Hidonix Industries is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer (Systems & Perception) to lead the integration of high-level perception and low-level control for autonomous platforms. The role involves building a ROS2 production framework, developing sensor fusion, and ensuring reliable, real-time operation.

You will own the architectural integrity of autonomous systems, including stair-climbing rover and wearable tech, with a focus on reliability and performance in industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Expert-level C, C++, and Python; able to switch between low-level driver work and high-level scripting.
• ROS/ROS2 experience with hardware communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C).
• Hands-on computer vision with OpenCV or similar frameworks.
• Strong networking knowledge including video encoding (H.265/H.264) for remote operation.
• Experience with MCUs (FreeRTOS or bare-metal) and interfacing with high-level compute modules like NVIDIA Jetson.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural transition to a production-ready ROS2 framework.
• Design and optimize perception sensor-fusion pipelines (LiDAR, stereo vision, IMUs).
• Develop deterministic firmware for MCUs (RP2040, ESP32, nRF52) for motor control.
• Engineer robust low-latency telemetry between edge devices and remote servers.
• Manage software environments on Linux-based edge compute modules and deployments.
