Job summary

FieldAI in Irvine, California is seeking a ROS Developer to build production-grade autonomy software for real-world industrial deployments. You will design, implement, and optimize perception, localization, and control modules using ROS/ROS2 on challenging platforms.

The role emphasizes sensor integration, real-time data pipelines, and collaboration with perception and robotics teams to deliver field-ready autonomy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Strong software engineering skills with production-quality robotics experience.
• Expertise in C and Python with ROS/ROS2.
• Experience with localization, SLAM, sensor fusion, and navigation.
• Sensor integration with LiDAR, thermal, RGB, GPS, and IMU.
• Experience with real-time data processing pipelines.
• Independent, detail-oriented with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ROS/ROS2 packages for autonomy (navigation, mapping, control).
• Integrate and calibrate multi-modal sensors for autonomous missions.
• Build autonomy APIs for SLAM, path planning, and mission logic.
• Implement and optimize real-time data processing in C and Python.
• Collaborate with perception engineers on AI-driven decisions.
• Test autonomous behavior on physical platforms in real-world scenarios.
• Troubleshoot hardware-software interfaces and develop diagnostics.
