Job summary

Lithium Americas seeks a Safety Supervisor to join our Health and Safety Team at the Thacker Pass site in northern Nevada. You will serve as the on-site safety leader for day-to-day H&S operations, ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture.

You will supervise Safety Specialists, implement site safety programs, manage permits, coordinate training, and drive continuous improvement in OSHA and MSHA environments. Occasional travel to other offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, science, or a technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive safety experience in chemical, mining, or related industries with supervisory exposure.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and Nevada OSHA/MSHA regulations; familiarity with PSM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site safety lead for day-to-day H&S operations at Thacker Pass.
• Supervise Safety Specialists and guide performance and development.
• Implement site safety programs and manage permit systems in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
• Lead training, audits, and regulatory interactions to ensure compliance and safe operations.
• Coordinate with operations to proactively identify and mitigate hazards before work begins.
