Job summary

Lithium Americas Corp. is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead the site analytical laboratory at Thacker Pass.

You will supervise laboratory personnel, coordinate daily work, and ensure safe, accurate, and timely results supporting process control, product quality, and operational decision-making. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field, 5+ years of mining/mineral processing lab experience, and experience with QA/QC, LIMS, and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, metallurgy, or related field preferred.
• Five+ years of relevant laboratory experience in mining, mineral processing, chemical manufacturing, or related industrial environment preferred.
• Experience supervising laboratory personnel required.
• Working knowledge of analytical laboratory operations, QA/QC practices, data review, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of analytical laboratory personnel, including work assignments and training.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of the laboratory and sample preparation activities.
• Coordinate sample flow to support timely and accurate analytical results.
• Implement QA/QC practices and escalate data quality concerns.
• Review data for completeness and ensure proper data entry and approvals in LIMS.
• Maintain instruments and equipment, including calibration and maintenance.
• Train personnel on analytical methods, sample prep, and safety.
• Support investigations of deviations and nonconforming results; participate in root cause analysis.
• Monitor performance metrics and coordinate with Quality Manager on improvements.
• Lead safety and environmental stewardship within the lab and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
