Job summary

Lithium Americas seeks an experienced Training Specialist to coordinate, maintain, create, and facilitate training programs ensuring regulatory compliance and workforce readiness for Thacker Pass project employees, contractors, and vendors.

The role is based in Winnemucca during construction and will transfer to the Thacker Pass site during commissioning and operation; travel to other offices/sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years in training within mining or chemical processing.
• Proven ability to design, deliver, or support workforce training programmes meeting regulatory requirements.
• MSHA Part 48 trainer certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience developing or coordinating On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with leadership to implement, evaluate, and improve training programs for employees, vendors and contractors.
• Designs and updates course materials, job aids, and assessments aligned to SAT.
• Facilitates classroom and hands-on training; coaches OJT trainers and SMEs.
• Maintains LMS records and assists with data quality and user management.
• Generates reports on training effectiveness, delinquencies, and deficiencies.
• Ensures compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and applicable regulations.
