Job summary

Westhab Inc. in the Bronx, NY is seeking an IT Technician to install, troubleshoot, and support the organization’s computer hardware, software, and network services.

You will provide on-site and remote staff assistance and help maintain secure, reliable technology across multiple sites. The role requires an Associate’s degree in a technical field, at least two years of experience, and solid knowledge of Windows systems, Office, networking basics, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree in Computer Science or technical related discipline.
• Experience: At least two years of computer and network support.
• Required Skills: Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suites. Fundamental understanding of network infrastructure (switches, hubs, routers, firewalls, etc.). Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Must enjoy solving a wide variety of problems on a continual basis. Must be able to work independently. Must have a Driver's License and car.
• Preferred Skills: Familiarity of Windows server operating systems and Citrix XenDesktop. Familiarity with SonicWall appliances. Familiarity with video surveillance systems.

Responsibilities

• Record IT requests via phone/email into IT ticket system and monitor ticket closures.
• Open/follow up/log repair tickets with providers for voice, internet, and TV.
• Support hardware: computers, printers, scanners, network equipment, security video gear.
• Support desktop software and operating systems: install, troubleshoot, upgrade.
• Set up new network and computer equipment per standard procedures.
• Provide staff support by phone, remotely, and on-site.
• Deliver equipment to Westhab sites as needed.
• Set up, maintain, and remove user network accounts.
• Maintain inventory of software and hardware.
• Coordinate with vendors and outside consultants.
