Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC in New York is seeking a Project Manager to lead transmission and substation foundation projects and oversee project scope, schedule, and budgets.

You will supervise safety programs, coordinate with clients and field teams, prepare proposals and estimates, and report on profitability. A BS/BA in engineering or related field and 4–7 years of utility PM experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 4-7 years of Project Management/Engineering/Construction Management or related experience in utility construction.
• Experience with union jurisdiction and labor agreements.
• Foundation construction (substation and transmission) expertise preferred.
• Knowledge of utility construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day oversight of the safety management system.
• Oversee construction activity to meet design, budget and schedule.
• Interface with owner/client and on-site crews to ensure safety and milestones.
• Apply MJE project management standards and best practices.
• Prepare transmission and substation Foundation construction proposals and estimates.
• Forecast and report on project profitability and budget.
• Coordinate job setup, safety, scheduling, cost codes, and billing.
• Provide weekly updates to senior management.
• Manage and oversee all subcontractors.
• Regional travel with overnight stays is required.
