Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC seeks a talented Project Manager to supervise and coordinate electric transmission line and substation construction projects. You will lead design-to-delivery activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and the ability to collaborate with clients, owners, and unions across a broad geographic area, with regional travel expected.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership capabilities in a management role.
• Experience presenting to groups of 20-40 individuals.
• Knowledge of utility construction practices.
• Experience managing project financials.
• Extensive computer skills with Access, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activity with project team to meet design, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with owner/client and on-site crews to ensure safety, quality, and milestones.
• Prepare electrical utility construction proposals and estimates, including take-offs.
• Forecast and report on project profitability while managing the budget.
• Coordinate job setup including safety, scheduling, cost codes, and billing.
• Plan and evaluate performance adjustments to stay on budget and on schedule.
• Interface with client/owner representatives, IBEW union members, and subcontractors.
• Lead field employees and manage contractor requirements across a large area.
• Provide project status and expectations to field teams and clients.

BS/BA in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
