Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee on-site project administration and manage office engineers and the jobsite administrator. The role requires coordinating with owners, suppliers, and trade partners to resolve disputes and manage changes.

The successful candidate will assist the project manager, ensure accurate cost control and scheduling, and support engineering details, RFIs, and procurement for large commercial projects.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum of 2-4 years' experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents: accumulate data and prepare monthly owner pay applications.
• Resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs and questions for/from architect/engineer.
• Develop/manage cost control and labor recap with project leadership.
• Process and estimate all potential change orders and RFIs.
• Assist in development and management of the project schedule.
• Assist with engineering details and special design.
• Track and report on project progress.
• Support production analysis studies and material purchasing.
• Lead weekly owner/architect/contractor meetings and maintain minutes.
• Assist in monthly margin analysis.
