Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer to lead on-site project administration and supervise the office engineers and jobsite administrator in Bethesda, MD. The PE will directly manage project financials, planning, and scheduling while coordinating with owners and trade partners to meet project goals.

Strong attention to detail and proficiency with Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk, plus Excel templates, BIM/VDC specs, are required.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum 2–4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency with Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents by preparing monthly owner pay applications.
• Resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs and questions for the architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with the PM and superintendent.
• Process and estimate potential change orders and information requests.
• Assist in project scheduling and monitoring progress on-site.
