Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee on-site project administration and manage the office engineers and jobsite administrator. You will handle project financials, scheduling, and coordination with owners, suppliers, and trade partners to resolve disputes and changes.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication, and proficiency with project management tools such as Primavera and AutoDesk. On-site work and a driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents by preparing monthly owner pay applications.
• Identify and resolve interface conflicts with trade partners and internally.
• Assist field supervisors with drawings, RFIs, and questions for the architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recaps with the PM and supervisor.
• Process and estimate all potential change orders and RFIs.
• Assist in development and management of the project schedule.
• Assist with engineering details and special design.
• Track and report project progress.
