Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee on-site project administration and lead office engineers and the jobsite administrator. You will directly manage project financials, planning, scheduling, and supervise personnel to meet project goals.

The role requires attention to detail and proficiency with project management tools; you will negotiate with owners, suppliers and trade partners to resolve changes and disputes, ensuring project success.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required in civil/structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
• 2-4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects; valid driver’s license
• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel-based templates; Prolog, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents with data collection and monthly owner pay apps
• Resolve interface conflicts between company and trade partners
• Interpret drawings, specs, RFIs, and questions with architect/engineer
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with project team
• Process and estimate potential change orders and RFIs
• Assist in development and management of the project schedule
• Track and report project progress
• Manage materials and field-initiated purchasing and meetings minutes
