Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Superintendent with front-line field management. The role focuses on field layout, quality control, safety, and coordination of trade partners in a dynamic construction environment.

Candidates should hold a 4-year degree in a related field and have 1 year of experience, plus proficiency in Excel, ProjectSight, Primavera, and AutoDesk. A valid driver's license is required, with internships preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field
• 1 year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Microsoft Office Suite and Excel-based templates, ProjectSight, Primavera and AutoDesk Suite
• Past internships in the construction industry are preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work and report for schedule and cost control
• Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners
• Direct a small workforce to gain supervisory experience
• Coordinate material deliveries and compare with delivery status
• Inspect materials for quantity, quality and condition and report missing/damaged items
• Assist foremen and trade partners with interpretation of plans and specs
• Oversee trade partners and direction of workforces to gain supervisory experience
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings and weekly safety audits
• Collaborate with VDC team on scope and deliverables for field operations
• Review and navigate current 3D model viewing and scheduling software
