Job summary

Guy F. Atkinson Construction, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer in the United States to provide administrative and technical services in scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration.

You will collaborate with project managers and superintendents to oversee projects, support field operations, and ensure timely delivery. The role emphasizes safety, effective communication, and production of accurate budgets, forecasts, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience on commercial or heavy civil construction projects.
• Strong initiative, independence, personal responsibility, and integrity.
• Willingness to communicate, listen, ask questions, and learn from others.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively pursue safety training and embrace the Atkinson safety culture.
• Participate in TRACK process; attend daily/weekly meetings and field inspections.
• Maintain strong working relationships with craft personnel, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and management.
• Stay ahead of crew needs to keep operations efficient.
• Prioritize daily tasks with deadlines and material lead times.
• Provide prompt, accurate information and requests to agencies and vendors.
• Communicate clearly and concisely in a professional manner.
• Investigate issues, gather input, and propose solutions.
• Track and update quantities to ensure budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
• Review invoices and pay subcontractors and vendors timely.
• Prepare supporting documentation for change orders and requisitions.
