Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a Project Engineer passionate about the heavy civil construction industry. This on-site role supports the regional office and collaborates with the Project Team to plan and execute assignments, ensuring deadlines are met and standards are followed.

The successful candidate will interpret drawings and specs, coordinate materials, manage RFIs/submittals in CMiC, and assist with change orders while prioritizing safety and quality. Training and career growth are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a construction management role (estimating, operations, and/or engineering). Heavy civil experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related major, or equivalent. Continuing education in construction is desirable.
• OSHA 30-hour required.
• FE certification preferred (Fundamentals of Engineering).
• Working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change orders, labor & equipment reporting, planning and scheduling, preconstruction planning, safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Problem solve with the Project Manager and Superintendent to plan and schedule construction activities to meet project goals.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and technical info; share with team, subs, vendors, and consultants to ensure engineering standards.
• Identify, order, and coordinate delivery of materials; finalize purchase orders and subcontracts in a timely and cost-effective way.
• Manage RFIs and submittals; maintain project control logs in CMiC.
• Process owner billings and project accounting tasks.
• Assist PM with Change Order development and documentation.
• Monitor all work for safety compliance with the Safety Manager; maintain safety files and review the schedule for safety needs.
