Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Accountant to support commercial and residential construction projects in the Silver Spring area. The role emphasizes thorough job costing, WIP schedules, and precise GL management within a fast-paced real estate development environment.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in accounting, strong analytics, and proficiency with accounting software and Excel. It is an on-site, permanent position with competitive benefits and a performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years in similar accounting role
• Knowledge of WIP, progress billings, GL, job costing, reconciliation
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage work-in-progress schedules and progress billings for multiple projects
• Perform variance analysis and explain discrepancies
• Maintain general ledger and meet reporting deadlines
• Implement and manage job costing to capture project costs
• Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Collaborate with project managers for accurate reporting
• Assist in budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
• Provide financial guidance to project teams
