Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years in similar accounting role
• Knowledge of WIP, progress billings, GL, job costing, reconciliation
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CFO, this role performs professional-level accounting across real estate development and construction projects, with an emphasis on general ledger management, job costing, pre-development tracking, and draw preparation.

• Managing and preparing work-in-progress schedules and progress billings for multiple projects.
• Conducting regular variance analysis to identify, explain, and correct any discrepancies.
• Overseeing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Implementing and managing job costing systems to accurately capture project costs.
• Reconciling complex accounts and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Providing financial advice and support to project managers and team members.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Accounting and Finance industry.
• Strong knowledge of work-in-progress schedules, progress billings, variance analysis, general ledger, job costing, and reconciliation.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
