Job summary

IES is seeking a Pre-Construction Coordinator in Huntsville, AL, to support procurement, estimating, design, and project management teams. You will manage pre-construction activities, documentation, and scheduling to ensure readiness and efficient planning.

You will collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments, maintain project data, and help standardize workflows while upholding confidentiality and professional conduct. This role is on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor preferred.
• 2–4 years in project coordination or pre-construction settings.
• Experience with construction docs, project tracking systems, or ERP platforms.
• Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred where required.
• Experience in construction, service, or multi-trade industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate pre-construction activities and workflow across departments.
• Maintain and organize project documentation, plans, contracts, and logs.
• Assist with scheduling, milestone tracking, bid coordination, and doc mgmt.
• Coordinate communication between Pre-Construction, Estimating, Purchasing, PM, vendors, and internal teams.
• Monitor submittals, RFIs, permits, approvals, and project timelines.
• Maintain accurate project data and reporting in company systems.
• Prepare reports, meeting notes, and project-related documentation.
• Identify workflow issues and project delays; assist with resolutions.
• Support process improvements and workflow standardization.
• Ensure confidentiality of company, customer, vendor, and project data.
